Winemaker: This winery, which is run by Borut Blazic, is situated in the far west corner of Slovenia, on the border with Italy. Tucked away between the mountains and the sea, the winery has all it takes to grow top-notch grapes. Most of the Blazic vineyards are situated in Slovenia, barring a small number of vineyards across the border, in Italy. All Blazic wines are produced according to the KOPOP method, an organic farming programme with support from the Slovenian authorities. This means that the grapes are grown with the greatest respect for nature. No pesticides or fertilisers are used and the grapes are harvested manually.
Type: Dry white · 100% tocai friulano (sauvignonasse) · 13% alcohol
Vinification: After macerating (contact with the skins) for 1 day, pressing, filtering and bottling.
Tasting notes: Clear golden wine with aromas of lemon zest, floral notes and ripe white fruit such as white peach. A fresh, elegant wine with a lovely finish.
Food pairing: Goes well with white meat, shellfish, a herb omelette and risotto or pasta with vegetables.
