Description
Winery: Ronk
Date of establishment: 1987
Location: Vipolze- Dobrovo, Goriska brda, Primorska
Winemaker: The Ronk winery was founded by the Kristancic family. Although they had been growing grapes for many years, they only decided to start producing their own wines in 1987. Ronk thinks of wine as a product that is the result of all the love and care that is given to the vines. Once the grapes have been harvested, vinification evolves at its own pace, with a minimum of intervention. Their vineyards are situated in Slovenia, barring a few that are on the other side of the border, in the Italian region of Collio.
Type: Dry white · 100% pinot blanc · 14% alcohol
Vinification: After 24 hours of cold maceration (contact with the skins) and pressing, the wine then goes on to age in stainless steel tanks for 8 months. Bottling takes place in May, after which the wine further ages in the bottle.
Tasting notes: Straw-yellow wine with a golden sparkle. Floral aromas of white flowers and acacia, pear and citrus notes on the nose. Delicate acidity and a nice finish.
Food pairing: Excellent with fish and light white meat dishes.
