Description
Winery: Ronk
Date of establishment: 1987
Location: Vipolze- Dobrovo, Goriska brda, Primorska
Winemaker: The Ronk winery was founded by the Kristancic family. Although they had been growing grapes for many years, they only decided to start producing their own wines in 1987. Ronk thinks of wine as a product that is the result of all the love and care that is given to the vines. Once the grapes have been harvested, vinification evolves at its own pace, with a minimum of intervention. Their vineyards are situated in Slovenia, barring a few that are on the other side of the border, in the Italian region of Collio.
Type: Dry red, only produced in good years · 100% cabernet franc · 12.5% alcohol
Vinification: After the wine has macerated (contact with the skins) for 30 days, it spends 18 months in stainless steel tanks, followed by at least six months ageing in the bottle.
Tasting notes: Ruby-red with purple hues. The density hints at a wine with plenty of character. Delicate but intense aromas of red fruit, raspberry and cherry, with hints of graphite, green bell pepper and brushwood. A harmonious, well-balanced wine.
Food pairing: Combines equally well with poultry, rabbit, lasagne, pasta with meat sauce or even a vegetarian pizza.
