Description
Winery: Erzetic
Date of establishment: 1980
Location: Visnjevik, Goriska Brda, Primorska region
Winemaker: In the westernmost region of Slovenia we find the Erzetic winery, led by Andrej Erzetic. It was founded in 1725 and is to this day a true family business where the wine craft is passionately passed on from generation to generation. In 1980, the first bottles were bottled there, Remarkable because at that time in communist Slovenia most winemakers still brought their wine to the cooperative.
The combination of a soil rich in minerals and a mild climate tempered by the sea and the mountains results in a range of unique wines, with which they have already won several international awards.
Type of wine: Dry white – 100% rebula (organic) – 12.5% alcohol
Vinification: After pressing, controlled fermentation at 15 °C, aging sur lie, filtering and bottling.
Tasting profile: Pale yellow wine with aromas of citrus and fruit blossoms. Fresh, fruity on the palate with nicely balanced alcohol and acidity. The fruit aromas end in a subtle bread sensation, the result of the aging sur lie. The surprising touch of minerality leaves a slightly salty impression that invites you to take another sip.
Food pairing: Ideal as an aperitif wine. Perfect to pair with vegetable tempura, prosciutto, risottos, seafood, all kinds of fish preparations and much more.
