Winemaker: The Protner estate is located in North East Slovenia. They don’t just grow grapes for wine here, meaning this is a working farm in the broadest sense of the word. Bojan Protner and his brother Miran are the vintners and they grow the grapes according to the rules of integrated agriculture. This means that they prefer sustainable agriculture over artificial resources.
Type: Dry white · 100% renski riesling · 12.5% alcohol
Vinification: Pressing, fermentation in stainless steel tanks, 4 months ageing in stainless steel tanks followed by 6 months in large old oak barrels.
Tasting notes: Pale yellow wine with distinctive floral aromas of roses and blossoms, notes of stone fruit and a pronounced minerality. This is also confirmed in the mouth. An elegant wine with lovely acidity.
Food pairing: Pairs nicely with fish and crustaceans, pork, veal or poultry.
